"Kindness is the greatest floss..." from The Razor's Edge

When I was in college working at Muir's Drug Store on Michigan Avenue, I remember reading an article about a "rudeness syndrome" that was sweeping the country. Part of the problem, the author felt, was the younger generation's lack of concern for humanity and continual focus on self. I could not stop laughing when I read it! Interestingly though, as I shared the article with friends, family, and co-workers, they agreed with the author! That was in the seventies, and I am happy to report that forty some years later, a New York Times writer, Nicholas Kristof, believes that people are getting nicer. Well, it's about time, don't you think!!

Chaps My Hide...

This page is dedicated to rants and rages!  Things that tick me off such that I feel a need to blog about it.  You can always comment, add your rant or rage, and we can shoot off steam together....What are you sick and tired of?  What puts you over the edge?  I used to direct a radio talk show program where people could call in and complain about things that "pissed them off."  It was done on a tape recorder from my bedroom when I was young.  I was the director, the talk show host, and all the callers!  Sort of like Phil Hendrie does now.  When I played the show segments for my mom, she would be in tears from laughing so hard.  I don't remember all of the folks who called in, but one complained about people who stepped on ladybugs on the sidewalk and another complained about people who spit...just spit such that others can see them...Oooohhh that still irritates me now that I think about it...
